This annual award celebrates individuals who have demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing the profession through innovation, collaboration, and advocacy.
Nominees exemplify leadership through advocacy for patient care and safety, effective communication and collaborative team-building, innovative problem-solving and a drive for continuous improvement, a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development, and mentorship and support of their colleagues.
This award highlights the critical role of physician leadership in driving meaningful change and ensuring the highest standards of care. It serves as an opportunity to acknowledge residents who are making a significant impact within their training programs and the broader healthcare community.
Dr. Cale Templeton has served as Lead Resident in the UBC Anesthesia Program, a position that demands both diplomacy and the ability to navigate complex situations with composure and professionalism. He has demonstrated initiative across both clinical and research domains, consistently seeking opportunities to enhance healthcare delivery. In addition to his leadership and academic contributions, Dr. Templeton is a dedicated educator, generous with his time, approachable, and highly respected by faculty and peers alike.
His nomination reflects the very qualities this award seeks to recognize: leadership that is collaborative, inquisitive, and rooted in compassion.
