What This Course Offers
This course provides an introduction to the use of target controlled infusion (TCI) technology as a means of delivering total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA). It is aimed at anesthesia attendings, fellows, residents and anesthesia assistants.
The practical aspects are for a VGH/UBCH audience due to the specific pumps we have. The principles and models however are the same across different pump brands that may exist at other institutions.
There is additional content to provide an overview of TIVA and processed EEG in general for interest. References and suggested articles are recommended for further detailed reading if desired.
