WHO: Join the Victoria Section of Pediatric Anesthesia, BC Children’s Hospital, and the BCAS Education Committee for this joint event.
WHAT: This session will present an assortment of pediatric anesthesia scenarios that we will tackle together. Learning objectives:
• Recognize and initiate early management of perioperative emergencies using best practice clinical guidelines in a simulation environment.
• Demonstrate competency in the cognitive, technical, and non-technical skills necessary for managing perioperative emergencies.
• Incorporate the use of Cognitive Aids in the management of perioperative emergencies.
• Identify and critique the use of CRM skills in the team approach to resuscitation.
• Develop enhanced working relationships and gain a better understanding of the skillset of anesthesia assistants.
